Maybe I should vote for Angrybritain

I have two cars – or rather my wife Roz and I have two cars.

23/03/10 Because Roz has just bought a new car I go to the DVLA Preston to change the cherished registration numbers on both cars that we currently have and put one cherished number on the newly purchased vehicle (Swap them car-to-car x 3). Speaking to the member of staff at DVLA Preston trying to get help with the maze of forms to do this process I am stunned by the rudeness. I am not prejudiced in any way but I am dealt with very abruptly and rudely by what appeared to be an 16 year old girl wearing what appeared to be Hijab. She was so helpful that the forms had to be completed 3 times; the first set of forms (whilst she protested with flat denials of the same) were incorrectly filled in by her.

We survived that. The changed numbers. Paperwork and tax discs were to be returned to me within 10 days. That 10 day notice was printed on the receipt for the £105 I paid for the changeover and rudeness. The 10 day return period was also in the general Term and Conditions supplied to me.

13/04/10 (today)(10:30) I go back to the DVLA to explain that nothing has arrived. The reception was helpful and was asked to wait, then, 20 minutes later I am again verbally assaulted by a blond this time who insists that I haven’t waited log enough for the papers to be returned and she wasn’t prepared to do anything.

13/04/10 (today)(13:00) Mail at home comes about lunchtime so I check my post box and it contains a note from the postman (a gentleman) saying there’s letter that needs collecting from Ormskirk sorting office due an underpayment of £1.32

Yes you guess it. I pay the £1.32 and there’s my papers returned without a stamp or franking mark in sight.
