Four phone calls today: only one a recorded “we can get back money that you owe on your credit card”, the other three from call centres “ you have been selected etc..”. Two visitors at my door, one double glazing, one switching gas supplier. A prisoner with a bag of dusters.
After trying to reason with them ‘why should I be so thick to buy something in this way’ I gave up and now give them the standard answer ‘ this is a rented property, I am unemployed, I have no money’
Has salesmanship sunk so low?, they are obviously trawling the phone book to find dementia sufferers or emotionally unstable punters who will go along with their deluded rubbish. Oh… and some they come from something about the Cobra Group..
I remember in thee 50′s a Company in Bolton who’s business plan was to mistakenly drill a hole in someones front door; when the house-holder opened the door asking what on earth was going on, the driller would apologise for mistakenly choosing the wrong house and offering to fit the doorbell at a discount!
