Linkedin – The biggest tip: make sure to have an active account

I read an article today about how to get more out of LinkedIn. I thought I would pass along some my favorite tips from the article. Some of the tips were ones I felt everyone who uses LinkedIn would have already completed such as add a photo, a full profile and links.

The first tip I enjoyed was to enhance your profile with more applications since this could be the only time someone sees your services. I have added the WordPress and BlogLink to my profile. I would recommend adding your favorite WordPress blog such as this blog for the WordPress so everyone on your profile can see it. This allows new content to be seen by your LinkedIn contacts. They may not visit your website but may see the content from your profile.

The next tip was to use the question and answer section. This allows more people to find you and see that you are an expert in your field. Just make sure not to answer questions on topics you are not an expert in – that could back fire! Remember to ask questions as well.

The biggest tip was to make sure to have an active account. You cannot network if you only login in once a month. Make sure to long in at least once a week.
