From redundancy in the building sector Ryan gets a job selling Honda cars; month to date sold 13 which is over budget. The dealership is also over budget but only on used cars. New cars are under budget but not desperately so. In the sector itself the news is dreadful as sales halve.

Interest rates have never been lower than they are now. They have never been actually at this rate. The last time the interest rates were anywhere near this level; two years later they were at 25%. The next nearest to where they are now and two years later they were at 14%. Ryan wants to buy and apartment – what insanity is this I tell him.

In the recruitment industry there are many people from that sector looking for work now yet some permanent placement agencies are busy and some are closed. Temporary staff agencies are having some difficulty but very dependant of the sector the operate in. Education and Healthcare are very busy indeed – obvious reasons. New agency – just started and figures go over plan. Business actually started November last and there couldn’t be a worse time; it’s making £3000/week now.

Franchise Sector – figures and interest going up all the time. I advise people to look at the opportunity itself; keep the business simple; no stock; make sure sales can happen; borrowing is a problem without invoice finance.

100 people come to you for business in a week and you  sell to 20 – you know 80 times more about not doing business than doing it. It”s what you miss that matters.

Business is about three things: opportunity; conversion rate and profit.
