.co.uk is a must on foreign server!

Well this weekend I learned something new; something I had read about; ignored and and didnt know. 
Searches on Google
Bamboo Solutions let me have a little tip. I had my blog hosted in Germany because 1and1.co.uk have their servers there even though they boast UK (.co.uk) domain. Because of that and the fact that my primary domain; or at the least the one I wass using was lesarmitage.com (.com) it wasn’t indexed in Google UK.
I tested it and was true.
- If I searched the words les armitage in google I found my .com domain.
- If I searched words le’s armitage in google with the UK tick box ticked then I didn’t!
Therefore a .com site that isn’t hosted in the country of origin is seen by the local (country of origin) google search. I have been changing my blog all weekend to lesarmitage.com – weary!
Don’ t fall in the trap..
