Obama’s Blackberry not a Blackberry?

bbn-president-8700

It appears that President Obama has achieved his first victory while in office: He will be keeping his BlackBerry. Albeit for personal use, and contact with a small group of advisors, it is still a BlackBerry in the White House and marks the first President to use e-mail while in office. All official business will have to be handled on an NSA approved device, such as General Dynamics’ Sectéra Edge.

“I’ve won the fight, but I don’t think it’s up and running,” Obama is reported to have said as he walked through the White House briefing room Thursday evening to meet reporters.

No matter what the final outcome is, let’s face it, RIM is the real winner. There isn’t a company on the planet that doesn’t dream of this type of PR.
